I tried this last year when I first got started. I’m happy to send my resulting templates to you. I’m attending Wes Griffin’s newbie class this weekend, but I can email those next week.

I ended up going to the Lindsey sharpening templates (trying a forty vs several hundred dollars for the GRS omni-vise just made sense) and highly recommend them for fellow beginners. Big time savers.
Hello , just curious as to where you live ?

That would be amazing if you could! I’ve managed to make one that sharpens a 90 degree graver, 45 degree face and 15degree heel. Although I didn’t take a few measurements into consideration I definitely have a much better sharpened graver now!
These are what I’ve been practicing last night, doing this with a naked eye is a ball ache, an optivisor will have to be my next purchase

I have always found the onglette super easy to sharpen. Frank Hendricks showed Mike Dubber and myself how to do it years ago . Hard to describe how but just once watch it being done and it’s a no brainer by hand Dont over think it. Alain Lovenberg let Mike and I try one with no heel. Dang if it didn’t work
I learned to hand sharpen onglette gravers from a Philly Jeweler's Row hand engraver. On the Row they were known as"Fish Belly" gravers. They are probably the easiest of all gravers to sharpen, thou it does take a bit of practice. The advantage of these gravers is that you can make them as thin or as wide as needed.
