Thank you Weldom to show the progression pics of the eagle very interesting,one question....for the color that i can see maybe you have used a 18 k gold for the eagle and 24 k for the inlay in the scrolls,if i' m right why do you have used a more hard type of gold in the eagle ?

What a historic piece of gun engraving, and what an honor to have completed what Master Frank started. It reminds me when Lynton McKenzie told me of the time he was asked to finish the last gun started by Arnold Griebel. I don't remember what gun that was and I don't recall ever seeing photos of it, but yours & Frank's is well documented and photographed. Hats off to you Weldon! :tiphat:

Mrthe: You are correct, the wire inlays are 24K & the eagles are of a harder gold, I suspect 18K. As they were already made when I received the job I don't know much about them.
