Gary & Carlos: the dark areas in or on the oak leaves are achieved by shading lines. I ink my work & the ink stays in the textured areas adding to the illusion of depth.

Deep relief sculpting is a chore on (most of) the firearms we work on here in the USA. The hardness of the material certainly affects the time required to complete a job!
Sometimes it's not so bad.... Right now Working on a Winchester High wall (The FEGA auction gun) that's really nice to cut & sculpt!
