I am going to post a photo of a shotgun as soon as I receive it and have several questions about the engraver and the engraving itself. This is a quick question though before I get to the photo and other information needed. Does anyone know who L. C. is, and did he do engraving for Winchester?
L C possibly means L C Smith company, who did engraving for gun companies. If I show a photo of the engraving, is there anyone here with a keen enough eye who might be able to identify the work? Is there a list of engravers who worked for L C Smith, and a website or book that might show examples ?

Hi Steve,
I saw your website. You do the same kind of work as my dad did, steel and brass die engraving. I am Deb Corisis and my dad was Melbourne Jensen from Salt Lake City Utah. Please respond to my posting on the main forum engraving page, (Melsdaughter). I need pricing on steel and brass dies. The ones my dad made were stolen and I need to provide a monetrary amount. Email me at debbrahms@yahoo.com
