having a hard time making a choice.
should i mirror the scroll or have another scroll comming from the top heading down?
what do you think?:tiphat:
the flower centers will be blue montana saphires.
as for the bit cheek....i will add some engraving to it as well.
the bit cheek is steel with silver and gold beads.

I'd mirror it and flip it ...somewhat like a Yin/Yang design....just a thought.

In the picture on the left, is the bit cheek soldered in place on the silver or will it be soldered on later?

Shawn for my 2 cents worth Yin/Yang would look nice that was the first thing I spotted before reading your question
but then being an aussie upside down things look ok.

just my 2 cents but if the bail is already on one side of the design mirroring it would make the design look out of place.. so I'd continue with some other scrolls that keep the flow alive. otherwise you'll get this really powerful sense of direction from the mirroring but the resulting line is not parallel with the other lines in the body of the wearer..

or maybe I did not have enough coffee and I'm overthinking the thing..

some progress.
i will add a few more leaves. one at the headstall loop(the inside of the loop)...two for the left hand flowers...one at the bottoum of the bit and one in the center hole of the bit.
maybe that will improve things.

On the next one move cheek piece up higher use the bridle ring to hang on the chain. You then have more room at the bottom for design.Plus ya don't have to
punch the Bail through engraving.
Looks great .

thanks for the idea dale....the cust. wanted the bit to hand at a specific angle...if i did what you are talking about it would not be possible to get the bit to hang at an angle.
i was thinking that the next one i might have a hinged bail.

Slobber bar, rein chains?

Might think about applying a really light texture and patina to the bridle and cheek "hole" spaces? Just enough to get away from the glaring white...

They seem to draw your eye too much as they are in this image... may be much different in reality?
