Engraver Joe called me yesterday for a chat, and I had a chance to hear how his big sculpting commission is doing, the one where he does the masters in clay, of the US auto industry's major players ... Chevrolet, Buick, Chrysler, and others. These will eventually all be cast in bronze, and mounted on the main street of his home town. Already two have been cast, and are on display. It was his birthday this week, so thought I would post the reference to his works in progress. He is an inspiration!

Thanks Rod. Joe has wide ranging talents. He has enough sculpture to last about 10 years but he has told me that he intends to keep engraving guns. I was glad to hear that.

Indeed, Roger,

As you know, he is still getting some work done at his engraving bench. Must be quite the change of scale to go from a life size sculpture to a tiny scroll?

best
