That looks real nice Martens and not a complicated design at all. Not saying I could draw a design like this but it looks so easy. It is probably the harmony in the design that makes it look easy to do

beautiful work, Martens! i find the order of progression fascinating. personally, i would cut all the main lines, then relieve all the background, then matte punch all the background, then cut all the shading, and probably do it all in a methodical order from one end/side of the panel to the other. you obviously prefer to skip around a bit between the various operations. to each his own!

To me this an unusual design that combines different leaves I'm not used to see but I like it and no doubt on the perfect accomplishment.

I just have to see more work of the Belgium engravers.
