I saw a post on the ACGG Forum today to the effect that Tom Turpin has died. Tom was a great friend to all of us as he put many of our engraving photos in the Gun Digest every year. I will miss Tom!

That is very sad news, Sam.
Like you, I considered Tom Turpin to be a good friend and a mentor to all engravers and other firearms workers.
My condolences to Tom's family.
May Tom rest in peace.

That is sad news indeed

I always enjoyed talking with Tom at the FEGA show. He will be missed by many.

His books are now collectors items and what he didn't know about custom guns wasn't worth knowing.

The gun world has lost a real treasure

Rest In Peace, Tom.

Very sad news. So sorry to hear.

I met Tom in 1982. We served together in the same Army unit in Korea and shared a house for several months. Among his other attributes, Tom was a great cook.
