Another new word, or condition.
The Christmas Cramp.
It's 1:30 in the morning and you just can't engrave anymore. You have to unwind yourself form the
bench, and try to hit the bed.

Are you talking Christmas Cramp or Christmas GRUMP? There is a physical and emotional relationships to the both of them followed by mood swings and dillusions of grandeur

When I missed the bed, there is no grandeur. Just a lot of muffled laughing from my wife.

Fines or Finessing a Cut. = The act of making an engraver blade do cuts that it wasn't design to do.

Pronounced = Fin-ness (soft i and soft e)

Examples; Using flat graver to cut a hare line. Using a graver that has no heal to cut a line without plunging
into the metal.

In a sentence. I looked at his geometry and the actual tool. He should be able to do what he's doing.
He is finessing all his cuts.

OK how about this..........

ENGRAVE...........to disrupt the surface tension of metal, with lines or dots, for the purpose of creating a visual image.
