Smith and Wesson 17 HMR

This is a work in progress for my kid's air rifle coach. I have been working on it between projects. The layout is somewhat haphazard. I am not happy with the frame in front of the cylinder; too much background. I find it very difficult to cut the concave areas. I will add more to the barrel to balance it out. Critiques are welcome. Sorry the focus is still not great. Thank you Sam A for the opportunity to inflict my work on my fellow engravers.

I'm all about anyone supporting an air rifle coach !!! especially in this way !
Overall its very nice and your shading is approaching the master level.

If I was going to make a critique, I would say that the balance of your background ratio to scroll is a bit on the wobbly side, but overall its a well done piece.

Thank you Scott! He has coached my kids for the last six or seven years. He puts in a lot of time and effort and expects nothing in return. I hope to complete it before one of us leaves the planet. I completely agree about the balance of background. I sketched it out as I went instead of planning ahead and it looks unbalanced.
