Serenity Koi Fish

Below is a knife series that I’ve just recently completed for William Henry. Inlaid with fine silver and 24k gold on stainless steel. The handles are fossilised wooly mammoth tooth.

Koi fish have a lot of folk lore surrounding them and generally they mean good fortune or luck; they are also associated with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose.

A very Merry Christmas to you all.

Cheers
Andrew

This is really cool Andrew! I raise Koi just for the "Serenity" and have often thought about using them as an engraving subject. Super job as always.

Thanks for all the nice comments and Likes.
It was an enjoyable project and who knows, there may be more Koi to come in the future. They are an interesting subject.

Cheers

Such intricate detail with gold accents...super job, Andrew! I like the overlapping onto the borders in certain places. Really adds to its dimension. :clapping:

Beautiful, well balanced and very well cut! Japanese art just lends itself to engraving I think. And I agree with Sam, those little overlapping spots really make the koi jump out. It's a nice technique when used right and this is a great example. Fine work!
