I use dammar, diluted with acetone, or as is just mess with it, you cant go wrong, just allow it to dry to a tacky not wet surface. Apply thin coats, I use a q tip. Nothing to it.

Hi Indy,

I came up with the Bin primer/Shellac/alcohol recipe years ago for use with baking parchment and a laser printer (Hp).

This combo works great but you have to try different parchments (commercial works best) since they are all not the same and some work outstandingly well.

Others not so much.

I never use acetone since the acetone dissolves plastics (or at least makes them gummy) so i have not gotten well defined lines.

Lasers try to burn plastic media to paper and it will not stick to parchment. acetone melts fine line designs.

Delmar and naphtha (zippo lighter fluid) also works excellent (for color you can add Testers paint (naphtha based). cirelli sauce
Use this with Parchment and a laser printer.

I do not use ink jets. If you do Tom whites solution transfer magic and transparency's works great.

Best of luck

i made a bottle of this long days ago. i call it "cirelli sauce", as the formula was posted by mike cirelli. it worked so well for me i sent 2 bottles to other forum members. both did not like it at all. rather pricey to make a 4 oz bottle, but the results made it worthwhile to me.

damar vs others. only you can really answer that thru a bit of experimentation. there's likely no product that works equally well for everyone. for starters-- it's all based on ink, pigment, toners, etc. this is what primarily will determine what is best for you.

strait damar works just fine for parchment or clear transparency, just make it a thin coat applied with a q tip. It won't work on your first try, but don't give up is one of those trial and errors thing. I apply quick heat with a heat gun to help it dry faster.
