Hi, both are very nice, I like the first drawing a bit better.

This one flows a little better than the first. In the top sketch the lower right section that forms the little pretzel shape, for lack of a better word, seems to hold my eye in place. It's like a little focus trap and the eye doesn't want to leave it. The second sketch, as the eye goes around, it hits the slightly more complicated end and then flows back to the start.
I really like feel of the first sketch though. The leaf tips and doubling back adds interest and the whole thing has balance. I definitely wouldn't toss it out.
Intertwining scrolls add one more dimension to deal with regarding flow, balance and movement. I will say that you are dealing with it better than I ever have! Fine work.

They are both nice,but IMHO I think if you colored in the negative space then the second one might balance better.
