Shawn you know I like your work but I will stick my neck out here
that style of cutting just does little to light my fire.
if it had been your normal style with fine shading I would have given it a wow
sorry mate just how I see it

a guy has to have a few different styles in his toolbox.
I am working on a single point ring right now....maybe it will turn out to be a ring worth showing.

Shawn, it's just a matter of taste , I am sure there will be many customers who would love to buy this ring.
But I am with Ray that a little more sparkle would be more appraciated by many others.
So you are very right that an engraver need some more styles in his toolbox.
I like this ring but that's because I like very much engaving instead of sparkle.
Did you cut the ring bended or in a flat shape?

I will agree with you one does need a broad tool box and I know it's just me
I have a thing about western style engraving cant stand country and western music as well yes I know that will wind some people up but just my taste.
But still a fan of your other work.

Shawn, Beautiful job. If not already sold you wont have to wait but a day.

Super fine shading on a ware item like ring, buckle, bracelet and horn cap will not hold up to every day ware on silver. While Ray and Willem are certainly entitled to opinions on style of cutting and their individual taste I believe that the customer will appreciate the work far longer when cut in this style. Fred
