I'm usually the first one to yank 'em off of my microscope when I'm teaching a class as I don't need or particularly like them. So I'm setting up a Zeiss scope on my student bench at home and thought I'd see if the Meiji eyepiece shields would fit, since students probably use them on their scopes. While it's not a super snug fit, they do work just fine. When I sat down to engrave I really liked them a lot. I think the Zeiss might have slightly less tolerance to head movement/eye position, and the eyecups really lock-in the view.

I ordered another set from Edmund Optics for my other Zeiss.

Sam,

Yep they help a lot once you get used to them...

the older ones shaped like a oval (eye cup) work best..

Leave my dogs out of this :)

Here are the Edmund eyecups which appear to be identical to the Meiji.

Sam,

Perfect Keep your eyes open;) for even a older set that has softer and longer lateral tails...They are nice and soft and are even more comfortable...

I am apparently allergic to the rubber they are made of. Developed bruising under my eyes. Took a long time to heal. Tried to find non-rubber but was unsuccessful. Skin take them but I liked the view better. Fred
