Hi all, a little while back I posted a scroll I drew out by hand inspired by Ron Smith's book-a huge leap for me not looking at any other picture other than what was in my head :) It was to be for a set of spurs that I just recently and Finally finished so I thought I'd post the final result-buckles too. Thanks for the crtiques along the way too, I implemented them much to the advantage of the design.

Paul, nice work those are smart looking spurs! They're wide and bold, but the scroll elements give them real refinement. The rowels are beautiful, big but kind to the horse. You did a good job of pulling it alltogether.

I din't think I enjoy self-inflicted pain quite enoung to build spurs, but I have been trying some overlays in my work and suffering from a lack of soldering skills. I was wondering what you favor for solder, flux, torch etc. and what you do to hold the overlays in-place during manufacture. Also what material did you use for the overlays?

Thanks for posting your work!

Best,

Great looking spurs, congratulations.
Very rich with Ron's design influence.
Real kind to your horse too, everybody should be happy with these.
