Newly Engraved Colt US Dragoon

Here’s a reproduction Colt US Dragoon that I just finished for a customer. At his request I removed the roll stamp die on the cylinder..it was very poorly done, and put scroll work. Hope you like what I did.

Nice work, JJ.

Any particular reason you didn't put a border on the edge of the cylinder to grow off?

I'd still like to come visit you one day to show you some of my engraving. I'm not too far away. Do you have any up coming gun shows where you'll be exhibiting?

Very nice, JJ. Was the frame left alone because it is one of the few repos that are truly case hardened, or did the customer not want it done, or what?

Bert,Your right a board would been a nice touch but the customer was on a small buget,I'll be at Nations Gun Show this weekend Friday,Saturday and Sunday in Chantilly Virginia at the Expo Center.Bruce the customer just wanted the barrel,cylinder brass trigger guard and backstrap engraved. J.J.

Todd,I used a file to remove the roll stamping off the cylinder and then hand polished with wet & dry automotive paper down to 600 grit. J.J.
