New ring

This ring is in 14K yellow with rose gold, fabricated and then of course, hand engraved. The simple zig-zag pattern on the shank is quite strong to the eye. I made the shank from 1.55mm thick square stock. I like to leave enough material/height on my bezels so that in 50 to 100 years when some antique dealer deems it to need a fresh stone there may yet be enough metal to reset another.

Beautiful job and design. I'm glad to hear you mention that about the bezel. I've seen so much jewelry in the past 27 years that was designed solely to make the sale with no thought as to the life of the piece. As jewelers I think it's our job to consider longevity while designing a piece. And to think about the guy 20 years down the road who has to work on it!
