Hi
My name is Michael Henningsson.
I am a knife maker from Sweden who has begun to engrave.

I would appreciate some comments on my engraving.
In Sweden there are not many who engrave and I find it hard to get help here.
I have learned on youtbe.
I just became a member of this fine forum and trying to put a thread recently but I do not think I managed it.
So if you have a copy here in the forum somewhere, I apologize.
Feel free to check my website, where you will find more engraving experiments.

Best regards Mike

Michael

I can tell you have a passion for this art form. Knives and engraving go together like Milk and chocolate, you can never get enough. Your knives are beautiful and you have a nack for the engraving. I have found that engraving is one of the most difficult things I am trying to learn and all I can say is practice practice practice. You have found your passion.
Good to have you on the forum keep showing us your work :hammer:

Michael, You a a fine craftsmen and do beautiful work. Your knives are outstanding and finely finished. The file work looks flawless. Your blade designs are quit pleasing and utilitarian. Your engraving is terrific as well and you have studied well and producing excellent work. Welcome to the Café" Fred

Wow!
I really had not expected so this nice response. Thank you very much.
How nice you are.
I am really looking forward to being part of this forum.

I have been a part-time knife maker in about 2.5 years and only in 2011 that I have engraved so I have much to learn.
My engraving equipment is a graversmith and a microscope is a joke.
Garversmith I'm very happy with but need to replace my microscope.
Do you have any suggestions for proper engraving microscope?
I would need a good bench as well and are very grateful for the tip on this.

Thank you again for the warm reception, I wish you all a happy new year.

Very nice looking knife and engraving.

I'm using Meiji EMZ scopes. I bought on brand new from GRS. After using it for a while, I decided I couldn't be without one. I purchased a nice used on off eBay at a very substantial savings. I would definitely recommend looking at eBay for an inexpensive solution to good optics. I found that there seems to be a regular supply of EMZ scopes in good condition for around $500-700 on eBay.
