My First Nickel

My first attempt at a nickel carving. I wanted to post it finished, but Im just not getting the finished look that Id like. Ive sanded, polished, burnished, magneticly tumbled, repeat as necesarry. Any suggestions?

Here comes another good coin carver! Welcome aboard. Great carving and I love the character.I am hoping the rest of you fine engravers give it a shot, it's only a nickel. They make great practice plates and it is a sell able item should you decide to part with it. The best part is that you will make a lot of people happy. I can't wait to see your next one Johnny.
