This is a Spyderco "Kiwi", one of their smaller models. It has an interesting shape an also nice flat sides.
I drew the design enlarged on paper, then traced, reduced and printed it with "Inkscape" freeware.
I used wire for the narrow parts. Then rolled a Canadian Maple leaf coin into a sheet, and cut pieces to fit the wider areas.
Since the Kiwi has no pocket clip, this will also be my first attempt at mirroring the design on the other side.
I grumbled a lot, but I think the effect is worth it.

Very nice first try. In case you are not aware, you can also lay gold wires side by side in the larger areas, that way you don't have to go through all the coin rolling, cutting to size, etc.

There is something particularly satisfying about completing your first gold inlay.

Don't worry....your next one will involve less grumbling, well, sort of, maybe :)

Well done Eric
