Chiappa is producing what they call a "little sharps". They are producing it in stainless. Has anyone worked on one of these guns? I am Interested in knowing if this is something I should stay away from. Will it cut easily or not. Would it be similar to other stainless guns from Italy. I have not done any stainless guns only practiced plates that were 410 stainless I think. It was a pleasure to cut.

I engraved a Pietta SS Remington percussion revolver and it was terrible. A magnet would not stick to it. It was not that it was too hard but rather the surface was very hard for a thousandth of an inch then the graver would dive in as it was softer beneath. Depth control was almost impossible. It may be that they use a 300 series SS on black powder guns for increased corrosion resistance.
