This fishing rod is the latest I’ve made, it’s a 7 feet split bamboo and will be a present for my grandson.
He is six years old and begins learning fly casting in the lawn and I expect he will take his first trout next season.
I’ve engraved the reel and the reel seat with some « medieval » engravings , inspired by a trout that can be seen in a stained glass of the cathedral of Carcassonne.

A lot of trouts come up to see the engravings . I released all them , first because I was here for having fun and not to eat , and secondly because most of them were really small.

I know there are Biiig trouts in some parts of the world , but I can tell you that our trouts are very hard to catch and they jump up out of the water when hooked…
