The initials, background and flowers are great. The bright cut scrolls are really good, a few dog legs, but life sized who will notice. The running wheat border is weak. A little more taper to the cuts at the points, and more on the notches would help lots. All in all, a great looking cap!
Beautiful piece Peter, I like every part of it:clapping:
I am really impressed, what's your way of working on a piece like this.
Do you make a drawing on paper first?
Do you start with the flowers and start to wriggle followed by brightcut or is every detail planned before you start.

Diandwill,
Got a bit of track on wiggling the backbone, looked good at the time but its off a bit, thanks on the tips for the border, first time I tried my hand on that.
Arnaud,
It dose look good on the saddle and the customer is happy.
Willem,
The horn cap 3" diameter (7.5 cm). I do draw and decide on the basic layout on paper. On this one I cut the border first, drew the flowers and backbone on the silver, cut the flowers, wiggled the backbone and then brightcut the leaves. It ended up quite close how I had planed it out initially.
