Holding Fixture for Rifle Bolt Engraving?

Does anyone have a fixture that you use for holding a rifle bolt for engraving under a Microscope and ball vice, Any pictures?
I use 2 small V-Blocks at the moment but find it a bit unstable, the Ball keeps on moving when engraving.
And I have to Space my ballvice with a distance piece below to gain height.
Any Help would be apreciated.

ChrisB,Make yourself lead jaws for your vise,with soft lead jaws you'll be able to hold anything at any angle.Bolts,gun actions gun barrels any odd things,it works for me.J.J.

I use thermal lock from GRS to hold most of the things.

chris : check thru some of doc martins' postings. i think he knows a guy who makes good ones for just work on rifle bolts. or type in"rifle bolt holder" on the forum search bar.

I have this same setup, it was given to me, and it works pretty well. I did modify it so the single post piece mounted into two post to stop it from spinning. I leave the bolt knob a bit loose in the fixture jaws and it can then be turned as you cut. Under a microscope it is still a bit awkward, but it's an awkward piece to engrave, so it is what it is.

This looks like it will also help from not spacing my ball vice with a disc, below to get height.!!
