Here are some hobo nickel vises I've put together recently. I just realized I have ten different ones now, and am slightly addicted to creating new ways to hold coins. The first is a 5C fixture with the collet milled to accept a nickel and it sits on top of a pillow block bearing. Its then attached to a hide away wood carving jig. The fixture spins freely on the bearing and locks in place too, The top ring turns to tighten or release the coin. The second is a heavy duty panavise with a 1" aluminum shaft and a mounted toggle coupling. The coupling is milled for the coin. It turns and tilts. Lastly is a hand held or bench mount vise made of steel, brass, bronze and copper. Split steel and milled clamp at top mounted to brass. The bronze bushing slides up to tighten the clamp, slide down to release. The base is a steel flange with copper at the bottom. A little lathe work went into this one.
