a friend has asked me to "do something" on his rifle i i explained these weren't considered to be hand engraveable. he then asked if something less complex could be done with rotary pantograph. anybody ever do one of these with a motorized pantograph ?

It will still cut through the plating. That yellow color is no more than "make-up". It's purely superficial

If I remember right one of the Henry rifles is made of brass don,t know which one

The brass one is the Big Boy in center fire calibers.

tyvm, roger. i'll have to ask him what caliber the rifle is. if it's a cf, i think the original plan would get done.
gtj### if it's plated, i assume that's the reason for not engraving it. if so, i wouldn't do rotary work on it either.
