I just bought a slide from a RIGARMI BRESCIA 22 AUTO PISTOL off of ebay for practice. Does anyone know how these cut?

kulley: one way to be sure is to scratch test on the inside of the slide. use your scriber, and try to make a little mark on an area that doesn't contact any moving part. look and check for the "feel" as you make the scratch mark. if the scriber digs in and makes a nice mark, you're good to go. if the point simply wants to skate over the surface without leaving much of a mark, then you're not likely going to be able to engrave the part. if you do this test on metals you know- you'll get the feel for this and this simple test can be quite valuable in determining engraveability. be aware, sometimes a part can vary in hardness thruout. it can cut real nice for awhile, then bang- you can crash into an invisible hard spot, sometimes even a subsurface pit or void.
