When I retired, I received a sum of money from the company I subcontracted to. It's almost burned a hole in my pocket!
I'm looking to possibly upgrade my power hone. I currently have a GRS unit that has and is serving me well. I've been looking at the TW Pro Power Hone and was looking for reviews from those who own and use the TW hones. Does the variable speed of the TW really make that much difference?
Thanks for your time and opinions

i don't know the tom white pro power how work, well or not, shure is a great honer like the GRS,i have recently buy a En-Sharp :
• Smooth running and powerful motor

• Quiet function

• Speed control adjusts 250 - 600 rpm

• Clockwise and counter-clockwise

and work well,i'm very happy with it,l the speed control is good if you need more o less power during the sharpening, maybe the great difference with the others is that the plate is mounted directly in to the motor ,just only another alternative if you want ;)

The Tom White unit works great, variable speed and lots of power. I can make a new graver any shape in about two minutes. I keep the GRS unit for polishing with cast iron or ceramic wheels
