hmmm. i think that bar room floozie was winking at me ! the art just kind of morphs right into the theme on this piece !after looking closely, it seems to me this was perhaps intentionally a bit "underdone", if you will. esp the lady. look how closely she resembles a charcoal drawing ! marvelous, if you ask me.

I should jump on this and claim a self portrait except of course he's not quite handsome enough and the shoulders are a bit thin...................but those of you who know me would cry foul and the gal is almost as pretty as my wife. I found a couple of pictures to use as a general reference and changed as it suited me. I want to thank everyone for the kind comments. I believe this piece will be on John Young's table as he is the maker of the knife.
