Hi All,
I haven't done a show and tell for while so this is what's new.

This is a three and a quarter center with one pointer around the center and the shank done in a blind setting
style. Blind setting refers to the fact that there are no clean out holes in the back of the diamonds.
This is for a good look inside the ring. I consider a premium setting style.

The side of the eternity ring is hand engraved in a new style for me. Sort of a double pic and dot, I customer
just loved the motif and order another ring.
If your interested in the build, you can see it on http://www.goldsmithing.com/showthread.php?t=1005

This was an interest setting job done for a family giving a thirteen birth gift to their daughter.
This pendant was done in the normal pavé style with common prong setting and mill grain.

I love doing these long jobs because I can listen to my books on Ipod without being interrupted.
I just finished the Ultimate Battle by Bill Sloan or the battle for Okinawa in WW2. Interesting book in that
really lays out the full reason for dropping the bomb.

Anyway, I got to hit the bench running this morning.
Talk to ya later,

Jim

Jim, excellent job.
But I wonder why both jewels look a bit old fashion to me.
Probably it is the mill grain, in Antwerp you don't see that any more.
Neater do we see engravings on jewellery.
I hope I can make a difference on engraving.
The “blind setting we do that mostly. Especially for the wedding rings.
Also the "filet" cut (a larger cut) around the stones, that we used some years ago for the pavé setting isn't done anymore in West Europe. Now we cut a very thin deep line on the outside of the pavé setting.
I also do stone setting on all my jewellery that I create myself.
That’s is why it surprises me so much to see that much difference in jewellery design on both sides of the earth.
I'm not sure people in Europe will like it, but al least I want to give it a try because I do.

I can show you some setting like we do it in Belgium if you like.

Looks good Jim. I can imagine a LOT of time was spent on the ring and pendant.

It would be a pleasure to see some of your jewelry Arnoud.

Very nice work Jim. I like the pattern on the sides also.

Arnaud the hand engraved wedding rings are very popular in the U.S. right now. Especially on the white metals.
I find my customers mixed on the use of millgrain. Some want it and some don't.
