that is real nice buckle, your wife will be happy with it I suppose.

Did you inlay the gold using only wire, or did you use parts of gold sheet?

The buckle is casted, it is an old model I'm using for gold inlay. The same as for my grandson Alexander's first birthday.

Stunning, such balance and simplicity, is the surface stippled? On your grandson's buckle is there a bevel cut to the inside on the gold to give the depth or some height if yo will of the gold itself? A wonderful piece for the new year your wife must be very happy.

The surface of the steel is slightly etched, so it gives some relief for gold with mat surface of steel. Gold is engraved after.

Love the work you have done on these buckles. I bet they would look great walking around with these.

Question:
Do you cast the buckle, or purchase it from some place? If purchased, can I get the URL.

Thanks
Mike

I like the expression of the face on the silver buckle and the style inspired by the Renaissance or Baroque era. I already saw some photographs of beautiful jewelry which you carried out on this theme, some carved out of hard stone, very attractive! From a technical point of view, did you use the repoussé method for modeling this buckle or it is carved in a thick plate?
