first titanium project

Customer sent me this knife made by Ptere Martin to put some engraving work on. It has a stainless damascus blade, titanium frame, black pearl scales, and gold shield, pins and screws.
It took a bit longer to engrave than i expected. Spent more time sharpening tools than actual cutting it seemed. But, its finally done and the customer loves it
The background is 24k gold inlay.

Looks fine. Very deep background! Almost looks filigreed...

Was the background the cause of most of the sharpening?

Nice work, it looks as it is pierced and the background mounted underneath, or am I wrong.

brian............. yup. cut out most of it with a .4mm carbide bur, but cleaning up the corners, undercutting, and rasing teeth tore my tools up.

willem.......... that is the look i wanted, but the gold is just inlayed deeper to look that way.

Good looking knife and I like the scroll work style very much. Did you anodize the color dark or ink it? I can't quite tell from the photo.
