- Adjust eyepieces for correct interpupilary distance (distance between eyes)
- Set eyepieces to zero
- Zoom scope to maximum magnification
- Focus microscope with focusing knob
- Zoom scope to lowest magnification
- Adjust eyepieces as needed for sharp focus
The above setup procedure adjust the scope so it remains in focus throughout the zoom range.
This is extremely important for efficient use of a microscope.
Set eyepieces at ZERO.
Zoom scope all the way in.
Focus scope with focusing knob (not eyepieces).
Zoom scope all the way out.
Tweak eyepiece focus if needed.
This procedure sets the scope so it remains in focus when zooming in and out. )
this is what i was after ... how ever i dont think i have a focus knob . i have zoom , a dial on the left eyepiece . and a knob at the back called TENSION . which raises or lower the whole scope an inch or two . i set the left eye piece dial/knob to zero zoomed all the way in to 4x and adjust the tension until it was crystal clear how ever when i zoom out it loses focus about a third of the way ? its an Olympus sz3060 i believe. also if i move my head a mm the picture gets blacked out . is it always this sensitive or will rubber eyepeices or a headrest help. The micro scope has a 0.6 barlow lense and 10 -20 x WF eyepieces . i think thats all correct
