IMG_0099horncap.jpg Been awhile since I uploaded a photo of my bright cutting.I just finished this and am trying out a new macro lens.Still not perfect but is better than previous shots.

What kind of lighting are you using? I think that's the problem. It's really hard to see the detail in what I know is really good engraving.

i,ve always had the problem of bad photography. i know cutting the silver and this is fabulous and well integrated in my mind . reguardless of photo johnpilk

Judging by what I'm seeing, it doesn't appear that the engraving has an illuminated white surface above it. If you look at Page 4 of PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ENGRAVERS you will see a knife and pendant that were shot with a very expensive camera but without an illuminated white surface above.

Horn cap for a horse shoe-er? Looks great and I am glad your posting your pictures. Won't be long and you will be loosing flys again.
