This is a nice video. Maybe some of you are interested to see what my students and I had done for a restoration of a series of books. In fact this is a bit off topic as it is not hand engraving...
For the gold print stamps were needed. We photographed the original, digitized the outlines of the motifs, scaled them down to the correct size, made stamps of brass and CNC milled them with yery delicate self ground tools. The fine detailing I did with the graver.
The pictures show original books and the stamps. I have not seen a restored book yet.
