Beautiful engravings on a pocket watch these engravings were done in the early 1700's. To think I had a engraving in my hand that was close to 300 years old

thanks for showing this. certainly done before we began the "tool/toy wars" ! i've a life-long fascination with engraving done long ago. my one aunt had a tea and silver set and a silver mirror, comb, brush, &jewel box passed to her, and even as a little boy, i'd hold the silver articles and just admire the engrraving work. never guessing that one day i'd try to do this type of work.

I imagine, that without TV, Radio, I Pod, Kindle, and the I Phone they had a lot more time in their day to spend engraving.

Me too i have some old pockect watch parts hand engraved but not nice like the ones that you have posted
