Wonderful job! can i ask if you engraved the shading before or after the etching to reveal the damascus pattern? i have recently done a knife in damascus and i have engraved the shading after the etching, but it looks quite different from yours...

This is the first time I recall seeing scroll cut in damascus though I have done raised gold inlay into damascus. This work shows what a delight engraving scroll into such metal can be. Very very nice!
