Engraving mistake by Sam

Being as methodical as you are Sam, I am surprised you made such an error?

I could easier understand spelling the name wrong. I've never heard that one before:)

I once had a job where the customer misspelled the name to be engraved.

Since the piece was worth quite a bit, she decided to pay me about 10 times the original engraving charge (+ material) to "fix" the mistake.

I wound up removing a section, press fitting a slightly thicker piece of the same alloy into the hole, and soldering from the backside.

After leveling the metal, and using matching solder the seam was invisible even under the scope.

This was a bit quicker and cheaper than buying the gold and going through the processes of duplicating the part...
