engraving a henry big boy

Has anyone here ever engraved a henry big boy with the harden brass reciever. what did it cut like ,also did you remove the barrel -since barrel and mag tube all made together Any special wrench to remove barrel ,and does shading show up good on brass reciever . what graver angle did you use its for a deer scene on one side and a bufflo scene on the other thanks

Big boy brass can be gummy. Also, if it is a casting there could be places where small chunks can come out if you ae not careful. Yes, disassemble, it will make it much easier. Check out gunengraving.org/engravablity.shtml#henry

thanks so much for chiming it i had heard that they would flake off on the brasslite but didn't know that the solid brass would , I called Henry to get torque spec but they won;t give you any info even barrel torque

You should have no problem engraving the Henry big boy take to a gunsmith for disassembly and removing the barrel. J.J.
