Jerry, you have done such an amazing piece of work. Considering in the day of Boutet, he had a shop full of artists to produce work like this. You have singlehandedly accomplished a masterwork. Beautiful, beautiful work.
Sorry I took so long to reply but I was at a muzzle loading gun shoot for 4 days. Thanks again for all the fine compliments.
Rod I did make a drawn out plan for the whole gun but lots of evolution took place as things progressed. The silver inlays are
about .040 to .050thick. I make an impression by pounding them against the wood and then inlay them with chisels.
The have a very slight draft on the edges.
