Question: Engravability of H&R 999 / Sportsman

I've been asked to work on an older H&R brake top 999 or Sportsman 22 cal pistol. I'd estimate it was made in the late 50s to 60s by the rough description given.

It wasn’t listed on the engravable list of firearms from archives. Anyone have experience with the H&R brake top pistols in 22 or other calibers?

I engraved one many years ago..... I remember that it engraved like butter.

Thanks....

I just picked up the pistol last night to look at it. It has potential, but found out the big workload will be all the needed surface prep. It’s been used a good chunk and has the normal bumps/bruises.
