Question: Desert eagle, engravable?

I just went though the engravable/unengravable list and didn't see any info on the desert eagle. Anyone had any experience? Also, my customer says that his had been refinished in NP3. Anyone know about this finish? Thanks in advance.

Ed,NP3 sounds like a finish that should be on a armed car,just give it a test cut and hope you get the job I know the customer will be happy with your engraving. J.J.

I have since found out that NP3 is a type of nickle plating. So...I'm hoping I can just strip it like regular nickle and cut away!

Please keep us informed. I'm in the process of creating my own Cut/No cut list and the properties of each gun. Your experience with this one would be appreciated. Same goes for anyone else working with an unknown gun.

Update on the Desert Eagle. NP3 can be cut through with little or no trouble. The slide is quite hard. Breaks carbide gravers with each cut. C-MAX from GRS cuts the slide quite well. Will keep you posted as the project progresses.
