not too shabby, sam. i mean for just whittling. you should enter your practice pieces into a museum. hey, why not ? the quality is there. maybe some sort of museum of fine ornamental engraving. just a thought.

It's a hard rolled brass. Cuts nicely but tarnishes quickly, as you can see by the fingerprints

I've done similar things before, Doc. Just something different. Quite often these show demo pieces take several hours to cut as I'm talking to people and demonstrating other things as well, so I bounce back and forth between engravings. And sometimes I'm just bored and feel like adding a leaf in an unlikely place
