Hi guys......this is my first post on this forum, though I do see a lot of names familiar to me from the Lindsay forum.

I'm a gunmaker/engraver, self employed at it for 34 years, self taught in all facets - with appropriate nods to James Meek, Roy F. Dunlap and the engravers pages of Gun digest.

Quite a few of you will have seen these pictures. Must speak to the staff - things are running a little slow in the workshop. I work very slowly it seems, but when I finish something else I'll post some pics.

Damien Connolly.

Greetings Damien !

Superb work !!!!! When the person spend a lot of time creating something and paying attention to the smallest details you can get only the highest quality of ready product. Here we can see the result. Absolutely fantastic !!!!!:thumbs up:

Beautiful work Sir, I've seen your work somewhere before, there was a set of pictures showing the progression of the pistol grips that was amazing. Love the pictures, outstanding work.

Hello Damien, that is some beautiful work. Your buff is striking. Where did you ever find that picture? You mentioned overlay. Did you overlay steel on top of the base metal? Or did you sculpture the base metal?

Thanks for sharing.

Hello Damien, welcome to the Cafe!
Your work is amazing but what I love most is your miniature Kentucky rifle. Stunning work of art!
Best regards,
Leonardo.

Thanks to all for the kind words. It makes a difference as you'd all know.

Ed... the figure is a composite of perhaps twenty I dredged up on the net, drawn on paper and copied to the metal. The scene is just a figment of my imagination. The relief is carved into the base metal with hand tools, with a complete bulino job "overlaid" on the top. Just my terminology....Damien.

Damien, When you get settled in Connecticut please plan an excursion to Scott Pilkington's annual Engrave-In in Mont Eagle Tennessee. It is always the first part of June-Announcements will be made. You will have the opportunity to meet 30 or 40 of us and we you. Paul Hammler usually comes with his miniature tools and miniature flint locks. Great food and chatter. It is held in conjunction with the Blade Knife Show (biggest in the world I think) Has always been right after but some chat about before this coming year. About two and a half hours north west of Atlanta Georgia- Fred
