The Colt Collectors Association sponsored a special Seminar during the 2012 CCA Show in Denver, Colorado. The Seminar was part of the October 4-7 CCA Annual All Colt Show. The Seminar and was held in the Durango Room at the host Crowne Plaza Denver Airport Hotel. Members of the CCA were invited to attend and a special invitation was extended to Denver area engravers.

Les Scowe demonstrates gold inlay techniques while Mike Dubber explains the various inlay processes, tools and applications.

The camera provides coverage of Les's special technique of inlaying double gold wires in a channel pre-cut and prepped in a Colt cylinder.

Beverly Haynes of the Colt Historical Archives Department explains the process of obtaining a "Factory Letter" that describes the origin of a Colt firearm.



A member of the audience enjoys holding an engraved and gold inlaid Colt. This gun was 'Big Bear" that was featured in the last issue of The Engraver Magazine. Mike Dubber Donated it for the Saturday evening CCA Auction.

Area and CCA Exhibiting engravers attending the seminar and weekend activities were Dave London, Steve Ellsworth, Jim Blair, Weldon Lister and Marty Rabeno. Jim Blair was the Colt Master Engraver for the 2012 CCA Show Gun, also sold during the Saturday evening auction.
