Here is my first attempt at drawing scrollwork in a while. The drawing is 2" dia. I am hoping to engrave it somewhere around 1" to 1.25"

Critiques are always appreciated.
thanks,
John

Thanks guys :)

Roger, I had thought to print off a few copies of the pattern in a worksheet tomorrow at work, and see if I can make the shading work with a pencil first.

I should be able to get time under the graver on Monday.

thanks again,
John

Ok, I was able to get to the gravers today.:handpiece:
Here is the cut version of the pattern along with the shading. I cut the pattern in 18ga. bronze at 1.5 in. diameter with 90 degree gravers and 15 degree heels.

critiques are always appreciated, esp. with the shading. This is the first piece that I've tried to shade to this extent.

thanks for looking,
John

the tip shading i think could show a bit more "flow" in the leaf structure. they almost have the appearance of straight lines. only an engraver would even notice this. but, a pleasing piece for sure.
