I remember your post a long time ago on tessalation & using octagonal or whatever shapes, I guess you could use any that fit together? Very interesting & lovely knife :)
I like that dark stone.

Thanks Bram and Chris, I am glad you like the explanation.
Chris, basically you are correct, and remember that even sided figures like squares, hexagons and octagons are easier than others.

I believe in 2010 Barry did a FEGA Seminar called the "Three Segment Leaf", that is available from the fega website, and in issue 94 of the Engraver magazine Barry has an article called "How To Tessellate Small Scrolls". For those who are interested.
