Hello Everyone!
I apologize if this has been asked before. I tried searching and didn't come up with very many results.
I've been creating sterling silver items for 30 plus years and have shied away from darkening or antiquing them because I wasn't successful in getting a good base for the darkening agents to last long term. So I thought I would post on here and if there's something that I am unaware of. I'm curious what others use and how the techniques to apply them with lasting results.
I'm having the most trouble with engraved sterling silver rings in particular.

I clean my products really well with acetone or rubbing alcohol and distilled water and make sure they are completely dry before applying anything.
Products I've used: liver of Sulphur, liver or Sulphur gel, JAX silver darkener, BlackMax, rustoleum flat black paint thinned with lighter fluid and then set to dry for 24 hours or so.

Has anyone "baked" paint on...if so, what temperature and for how long?
Are there any good sealers out there that work? I've used Renasiance Wax and the Clear Lacquer from GRS.
I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts, thanks in advance!
