Lately, I seem to have been cranking these out.
However, this one was for a good cause.
I engraved this and donated it to an auction that was raising money for a local woman that was in a pretty bad car crash.
It is one of the few times where you don't mind giving yourself away.

Hi Brian... I really like the bracelet, nice flowing clean design, excellent work! could I ask what gauge silver you used in this? Thanks.

It is really nice to see people helping out others in time of need with contributions such as this...

great work Brian...

take care.

P.S. - Brian, I hope you didn't mind me adding your bracelet to the Gallery.

Chris, I use 20 gauge sterling silver in strips anywhere from 3/4-1"wide. (Length is what ever is needed)
I engrave it flat and then shape it with a GRS metal forming tool.

Sam--Thank you for adding it to the Gallery.I don't mind at all.

Brian

P.S. to Sam---I've just about clinched a deal on a slightly used Canon EOS. I know there are better ones out there, but I'm pretty familiar with this one. Hopefully, my photography skills will improve.
I'm learning that lighting is everything.

Brian,

As always, excellent work!
Been thinking about getting the metal forming tool from GRS - guess you like it huh?

Brian,

Another beautiful bracelet. I hope your donation raised a pile of cash for the poor woman.

One of my goals is western engraving. I have tried to wiggle cut several times with discouraging results. I know that the basic requirement is to build muscle memory for control. Any practice tips you could offer for develping that muscle memory would be greatly appreciated. I have tried slow, fast, standing, sitting etc. I have clamped the work solidly and tried to work around the vise and I have tried clamping the work in the block and turning it as in conventional engraving. Best I can get is a herky-jerky wiggle-waggle with no consistency.

Thanks for posting your work!

Jim, just like practicing on a musical instrument, the more efficient practice-the better the results.
Wriggle cuts not only require stamina, but also rhythm.
Try playing some nice easy listening music while you wriggle cut and keep tempo with the song.
